Position Overview
The accountant will work closely with retail unit manager and corporate accountants to handle store accounts. Each Accountant will be responsible for 3 stores on average. The position will be based in Quality Center and will report to the Group Finance Manager of Nexus Consulting Agency. Minimum of a one-year contract
Specific Responsibilities will include
Create Chart of Accounts for the stores. Post daily transactions into account ledger. Ensure Daily return is submitted from Unit manager, including Daily Invoices. Reconcile on a daily basis stock movement. Preparation of Pay roll. Manage all bank transfers. Complete Monthly bank reconciliations. Reconcile petty cash and prepare Monthly petty cash spending analysis. Pay all statutory taxes ( PAYE/SDL/NSSF/Provisional tax etc.). Perform weekly Stock reconciliation, comparing Records as per report Vs Physical report. Submit Monthly VAT returns. Reconcile Z reports issues during the Month with Invoices raised. Manage the filing of the records for the stores handled and Prepare landing cost sheet for consignment imported and determine appropriate selling process.

Position Description:

The officer will report to the Programme Manager and coordinate h/his activities closely with CARE Tanzania Program Learning Advocacy and Quality Coordinator in Dar es Salaam in a coherent and effective manner. Other activities will include advising the Programme Coordinator regarding strategic steps for realizing the programme’s goal.
